Nine injured in two mass street fights in Pamplona

The Pamplona Municipal Police intervened last weekend in two mass street fights which took place in the city on Friday night and early Saturday morning. In the first, in San Jorge, one person suffered a fractured arm and in the second, in the Old Town, eight people suffered various injuries. The municipal police are investigating both fights.
According to a Town Hall press release, on Sunday at 0320 a call was recieved by the municipal police in which a person reported a street fight between two groups in the Calle Jarauta, in the Old Town. A group of young people had insulted and assaulted another group in the area.
Minutes later, police were requested to go to the Calle Eslava, due to another fight between groups of young people. Members of one group which had assaulted another were identified and others located in nearby streets. The municipal police then localized others members of the offending group.
The fights ended with eight young people injured to varying degrees and 18 people, eight of whom were minors who had participated in the fights, identified by municipal police.
