Sarriguren Primary School: developing IT techniques and co-operation with families

Sarriguren Primary School was founded in 2009, had to expand in the year 2011-12 and due to the continued increase in pupils is planning a new school for the year 2014-15. The school promotes methodologies which activate critical thinking and emotional skills, self-sufficiency and personal development, creating resources which respond to the diversity of pupils. The school emphasizes the importance of project work, IT and co-operation with families.

Sarriguren Primary School has 790 pupils this year: 450 infants and 340 primary with 73 teachers in constant training and open to new technologies. The teachers favour an educative community in which all members can contribute through a free public integrated education of high quality focused on diversity in order to facilitate a community spirit while developing multilingualism in an atmosphere of plurality.

The school aspires to be integrated in the local culture and to promote cultural and linguistic diversity; committed to both family and society. The school, which offers its pupils Spanish, Basque and English, is committed to an education which facilitates personal growth among its pupils in order to prepare them with the skills they need for life.
