American singer Lou Reed
(New York, 1942) is feeling like "a triumph of modern physics, chemistry and medicine" after undergoing a liver transplant in May at a hospital in Cleveland
, Ohio. "I’m bigger and stronger than ever" he declared.
Reed says on his official web page that his "passion" and "dedication" to tai chi over the last 30 years have helped him in his recuperation.
The singer was suffering from increasingly aggressive liver failure and decided to undergo the delicate operation in May; he was in a serious condition after the operation until last week.
Venerated in musical circles due to "Walk on the wild side
" and his founding of the group The Velvet Underground
, the artist has said on his web page that he hopes to return soon to writing songs that will connect "to the spirit and the heart" of his fans.
